ROADWAY PM ENGINEER | INDIANAPOLIS, IN

The Roadway Project Manager position responsibilities will also include coordinating with other disciplines throughout the plan development process and directing technicians. The PM Engineer will have the opportunity to serve as a Project Manager on roadway projects, and will have the opportunity to advance their career on either a purely technical track or a blend of technical and project management.

  • Supervise or perform quantity calculations and cost estimate for projects
  • Supervise/Design and prepare erosion control plans

Requirements for this Position

 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE)
  • PE License, licensed in Indiana
  • 5-7 years of experience in roadway design.
  • Experience preparing roadway plans for DOT projects
  • Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
  • Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
  • A valid driver’s license is required
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Possess excellent time management skills.
  • Prior project management experience is a plus, but not required.

          This multi-faceted position will offer responsibilities in multiple areas for a variety of projects.  The Civil Engineer will work in design of bridges, roadways, and small structures.  This position will also act as Utility Coordinator and perform the work of identifying, coordinating, mitigating and/or relocating utility facilities that are impacted by highway improvement projects throughout Indiana.  Projects are likely to include interstates and highways, urban and rural roadways, and also bridge rehabilitation or replacement projects.   This key role requires the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, communicate and coordinate activities, and execute projects for a variety of clients.

           

          Typical responsibilities include the following:

          • Act as the liaison between client, designer, and the utilities.

            SJCA Inc. is seeking a full-time Construction Inspector to work on TRANSPORTATION PROJECTS, including roadway and bridge projects in and around Indianapolis, Indiana area.

            Position Duties & Responsibilities

             

            • Perform inspection and observation of roadway and bridge construction projects
            • Document daily inspection activities.
            • Act as the liaison between the client/designer and Department of Construction Services
            • Maintain frequent communication with project designer and Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) or Local Planning Authority (LPA).
            • Review work plans, constructability reviews, and site inspections during construction.
