The Roadway PM Engineer, Ohio position responsibilities will also include coordinating with other disciplines throughout the plan development process and directing technicians. The PM Engineer will have the opportunity to serve as a Project Manager on roadway projects and will have the opportunity to advance their career on either a purely technical track or a blend of technical and project management.

 

Job duties include the following:

  • Management of Roadway projects including Coordination with client, prime, and sub consultant as a team.
  • Design of Roadway projects including horizontal alignment, vertical alignment, drainage design, ditch profile, guardrail calculations and super elevation diagrams.
  • Design, manage, and supervise staff on roadway projects. Including
    • Supervise the design and prepare plans for various roadway projects.
  • Review or assist in preparing CAD drawings using GEOPAK, INROADS, Open Roads and MICROSTATION.
  • Supervise staff developing construction plans from engineering design calculations.
  • Supervise or perform quantity calculations and cost estimate for projects.
  • Supervise/Design and prepare erosion control plans.
  • Supervise the design for the preparation of plans for traffic, signals, intersection design, lighting and signing design.
  • Supervise the preparation of maintenance of traffic plans for roadway projects.
  • Attend various meetings such as field check, public information/involvement, hearing/meetings, and pre-construction.

 

Requirements for this Position

 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE).
  • PE License, licensed in Indiana/Ohio.
  • 10-15 years of experience in roadway design.
  • Experience preparing roadway plans for DOT projects.
  • Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
  • Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Possess excellent time management skills.
  • Prior project management experience is a plus, but not required.

      Job duties include the following:

      • Meeting with potential clients to build and strengthen relationships.
      • Provide ongoing business-client relationship and account management services to clients and be the primary liaison with the client.

              The Corporate Recruiter will research, develop, and implement effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for the organization.  The Corporate Recruiter will coordinate the recruitment process from identifying staffing needs to finalizing successful hires.  The Recruiter will  work with department managers and the HR Manager to meet staffing needs and will be responsible for locating potential applicants via various sources, interviewing candidates, managing communication with candidates, and offering positions to selected qualified candidates.

               

              Job duties include:

               

              • Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process.
              • Collaborates with department managers and HR Manager to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
              • Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available positions, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.
              • Researches and recommends potential new sources for talent.

              • Oversees and helps manage the ATS and the job and candidate data stored therein.
              • Coordinates communication with partner external staffing agency recruiters regarding open positions.

              • Screens applications and selects qualified candidates.
              • Schedules interviews, answers hiring team questions regarding appropriate interview questions, and prepares other hiring and selection materials.
              • Assists with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders.
              • Collaborates with the Human Resources Manager and the hiring manager during the offer process, to identify salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.
              • Assists with answering potential candidate questions, consulting with HR Manager or hiring manager as needed.
              • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
              • Gathers and shares information about college job fairs, and coordinates selection of targeted schools, as well as career fair registration and attendees.
              • Assists Marketing team with content for job fair handouts for candidates.
              • Attends and participates in college job fairs and recruiting sessions.
              • Assists with recruitment of students for summer internships and other internships.
              • Assists with conducting reference checks and any other pre-employment screening and assessments.
              • Assists with new hire onboarding and posting new hire welcome announcements.
              • May assist with some Green Card PERM related recruitment postings and candidate interviews.
              • Performs other HR duties as assigned.

               

              Minimum requirements:

               

              • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or equivalent work experience, required.
              • Minimum of 5 years managing all phases of the recruitment process as an In-house Recruiter in a corporate environment.
              • PHR or SHRM-CP Certification.
              • SHRMs Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential a plus.
              • Prior knowledge of civil engineering industry a plus.

                  SJCA Inc. is seeking a full-time Construction Inspector to work on TRANSPORTATION PROJECTS, including roadway and bridge projects in and around Indianapolis, Indiana area.

                  The qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate experience in Construction Inspection for various INDOT related projects, and will have familiarity with the INDOT process of roadway plan and specifications development.  The applicant must be able to work within a team or independently, and travel when needed within the State of Indiana, primarily in Evansville and Southwestern Indiana area  Construction Inspectors ensure that construction meets local and national codes and ordinances, zoning regulations, and contract specifications.  Construction inspectors on our team examine highways and streets.  They perform an initial check during the first phase of construction and follow up inspections throughout the project.  Upon completion of the project, they perform a final, comprehensive inspection and provide written and oral feedback related to their findings.

                  Position Duties & Responsibilities

                   

                  • Perform inspection and observation of roadway and bridge construction projects
                  • Document daily inspection activities.
                  • Act as the liaison between the client/designer and Department of Construction Services
                  • Maintain frequent communication with project designer and Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) or Local Planning Authority (LPA).
                  • Review work plans, constructability reviews, and site inspections during construction.
                  • Position includes approximately 20% office coordination between phone and emails and 80% travel to do field checks
